The Casco Bay Estuary Partnership provided
funding
to enable VLMP to foster the development of an active, sustainable,
citizen-based, invasive aquatic plant early detection team in the Casco
Bay Estuary Watershed.
The following seven waterbodies in the watershed are now being monitored by organized Invasive Plan Patrol (IPP) Teams:
Crescent Lake
Crystal Lake
Five Kezar Ponds
Forrest Lake
Panther Pond
Sabbathday Lake
Thomas Pond
In addition, a VLMP affiliated volunteer
IPP Regional Coordinator will be working directly with the Raymond
Waterways Protective Association helping coordinate IPP workshops,
survey activity, plant indentification, data collection, quality
assurance, etc.
The VLMP Invasive Plant Patrol workshop schedule, IPP Handbook, and Field Guides to Invasive Aquatic Plants are all available online through the VLMP website.
